They have an airtight chamber that is filled with gas. So when arming the gas is compressed and then expands pushing the piston with great force, usually exceeds the strength of the springs. Should have been piston and recoil, but less than that of the corresponding spring, and this category has less vibration. Require less maintenance and can be left unloaded for a long time without affecting their function and performance.
Only disadvantages : High price and Gas refill.
I don't have really experience using gas weapons. But next time I will buy one for my next hunting trip. :)
